Seplat Energy Plc is a leading independent Nigerian energy company focused on providing reliable energy while supporting Nigeria’s transition toward a more diverse and lower-carbon energy future. The company operates across the energy value chain, with a portfolio spanning upstream oil and gas, midstream gas, new energy and future energy markets.

Founded in 2009 and commencing operations in 2010, Seplat Energy has developed an extensive presence in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. Its operations include oil and gas assets in the Niger Delta, as well as gas processing infrastructure that supports the supply of gas for power generation and other domestic energy needs.

The company changed its name from Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc to Seplat Energy Plc to reflect its broader ambition to participate in a more diversified energy market beyond traditional oil and gas. Its stated mission is to lead Nigeria’s energy transition by providing accessible, affordable and reliable energy that contributes to social and economic prosperity.

Seplat Energy’s operations include upstream assets and midstream gas infrastructure, including the Oben, ANOH and Sapele gas processing facilities. Its portfolio also includes offshore and onshore assets across the Niger Delta.

In January 2026, Seplat Energy announced that the 300 MMscfd ANOH Gas Project achieved first gas, marking an important development in its gas business and Nigeria’s domestic gas supply infrastructure.
