The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) is Nigeria’s state-owned energy corporation, responsible for managing the nation’s vast oil and gas resources. Formerly known as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), it was commercialized in 2021 under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and now operates as a fully limited liability company — NNPCL — focused on profitability, transparency, and efficiency.
